How to get rid of Blackheads and Whiteheads NATURALLY!
Maintaining a clear and beautiful skin, takes time, consistency and effort. Dermatologist may recommend lots of products, but some of them can be expensive and may actually take a long time to work. You can, however, incorporate some home remedies for blackheads and whiteheads into your daily beauty regimen and in a few weeks, you will experience a drastic reduction or even total elimination of the problem.
Organic Toothpaste - Toothpaste is an effective blackhead and whitehead remover. Apply a thin paste to your infected areas and let it sit on your face for at least 25 minutes. You will probably feel a burning sensation when you apply the toothpaste, but this is normal and will pass. Once you remove the toothpaste, the top of your blackheads and whiteheads will disappear, but you still need to thoroughly wash your face to remove the buildup underneath. Repeat this home remedy every other day for two weeks.
Tomato - Tomatoes have natural antiseptic properties that dry up whiteheads and blackheads. Peel and mash a small tomato. Apply the tomato pulp to your blackheads and whiteheads before going to bed. Leave the tomato pulp on your face while you sleep and then wash your face in warm water in the morning.
Lemon -Wash your face in warm water. Then, squeeze the juice of one lemon into a bowl. Add in a pinch of salt and stir the mixture. Apply the mixture to your blackheads and whiteheads. Leave the mixture on for approximately 20 minutes and then wash your face with warm water again.
Lime - You can also use equal parts of lime juice and cinnamon powder and apply this mixture to blackheads. Leave it on overnight and rinse it off in the morning
Cornstarch - Mix about a three-to-one cornstarch to vinegar ratio into a paste. Apply it to your problem areas and let sit for 15 to 30 minutes. Remove the paste with warm water and a washcloth.
Yogurt - Mix three tablespoons of plain yogurt with two tablespoons of oatmeal. Add one teaspoon of olive oil and one tablespoon of lemon juice to the mixture. Stir the mixture thoroughly and apply it to the effective area of the face. Let the mixture sit for five to seven minutes then rinse off with cold water.
Almond or oatmeal - Mix either oatmeal or almond powder with just enough rose water to make a spreadable paste. Apply it to your problem areas with your fingertips first and then apply it to the rest of your face. Let it set for about 15 minutes and then rinse your face with cold water.
Rice - Soak rice in milk for 5 hours and then grind this in a blender until it is paste-like in consistency. Use the paste as a scrub on affected areas of the body.
Potatoes - Grate raw potatoes and then rub the area with the mixture. Wash it off after 15 minutes.
Fenugreek leaves - Crush some fenugreek leaves and mix with water to form a paste. Put this on the face for 15 minutes and then remove it. Do this every night to keep your face free of blackheads.
Coriander leaves - Mix some coriander leaves and a little turmeric powder with water and form a paste. Use this as a mask to eliminate blackheads.
Oatmeal -Grind oatmeal into a powder in a blender and then add some rose water. Use this on affected areas for 15 minutes and then wash it off with cold water.
Baking soda - Prepare a mixture of equal parts of baking soda and water and rub it onto your face or other body areas prone to blackheads. Leave it on for 15 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water.
Honey is also good for removing blackheads. Spread honey on the affected area and remove it after 15 minutes.
Remember -Be gentle to your skin. Never pinch, scrape, poke, press, or squeeze too hard!
12 Dangerous Cosmetic Ingredients to Avoid
Natural Cures Not Medicine on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NaturalCuresNotMedicine
Some
ingredients in beauty care products aren’t so beautiful. According to a report
by U.S. researchers, 1 in 8 of the 82,000 ingredients used in personal care
products are industrial chemicals which are highly carcinogenic, and include
things like pesticides to reproductive toxins and hormone disruptors.
Below is a
list of 12 toxic and carcinogenic ingredients to avoid in your personal skin
and beauty products – I would suggest you go and find all of your products and
start looking up these ingredients and throwing out those products. You can opt
for chemical-free cosmetics and natural skin care products which are much safer
for your skin and overall well-being!
I like to
use jojoba oil as a full-body moisturizing oil (it absorbs quickly since it is
a wax ester that mimics our sebaceous oil glands). As for make-up, I do not
wear any. I sometimes wear a little eye liner (vegan, all-natural earth
ingredients) if I decide to go out, but normally I just curl my lashes.
Surprisingly, beet makes a wonderful blush and lip dye.
Here is a
list of 12 toxic and carcinogenic ingredients to avoid in your beauty and skin
care products:
(1) PEG
(Polyethylene glycol)
Used in
conditioners, moisturizers, deodorants, etc. It contains dangerous dioxin
levels which have been found as a by-product of the ethoxylation process in
manufacturing. Dioxins have a direct link to cancer.
(2) Sodium
Laurel Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES)
Used in 90%
of foaming beauty care products (hand washes, shampoos, etc.), which may cause
liver damage, skin rashes, depression, diarrhea and eye damage. This chemical
is also found in engine degreasers and garage floor cleaners.
(3)
Triclosan
Synthetic
antibacterial agent. It alters hormone regulation and makes bacteria resistant
to antibiotics. It is registered as a pesticide by the EPA and is classified as
a chlorophenol meaning it can cause cancer.
(4) DMDM
Hydantoin & Urea (Imidazolidinyl)
Formaldehyde
releaser preservative with trade name Glydant. Can cause joint pain, cancer,
depression, chest pain, allergies, chronic fatigue, dizziness, ear infections,
and skin reactions.
(5)
Phthalates
Used as
plasticizers and can disrupt normal hormone functioning. You will often not
find phthalates on the label, but some common abbreviations are DBP or DEP. It
is also linked to liver and kidney damage.
(6)
FD&C Color and Pigments
Synthetic
colors from coal tar, strongly linked to ADHD in children. Contain heavy metal
salts which are deposited in the skin causing irritations. Many studies link
these coloring agents to cancer.
(7) DEA
(Diethanolamine), MEA (Monoethanolamine), and TEA (Triethanolamine)
Foaming
booster (for hand washes and the like). Causes skin irritations and contact
dermatitis. Very easily absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream
where it collects and aggregates in our organs and brain.
(8) Benzoyl
Peroxide
In many
papers, called “free radical-generating skin tumor promoting agent.” Two-thirds
of research supports the linkage between BP and skin cancer. It is toxic by
inhalation and is an eye, skin and respiratory irritant.
(9) Dioxin
Apart of
antibacterial ingredients like triclosan, PEGs, emulsifiers and SLS. Causes
cancer, lowers immunity, causes birth defects and causes depression.
(10)
Sunscreen Chemicals
Oxybenzone,
avobenzone, octinoxate, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate, and PABA – all
generate free radicals in the body which damage DNA and increase cancer risk.
(11)
Parabens (Methyl, Butyl, Ethyl, Propyl)
Preservatives,
not always labeled. Studies have found concentrations of parabens in human
breast tumors (making a direct link to this chemical causing breast cancer). It
is used in deodorants and other personal care products. Causes major hormone
disruption.
(12)
Propylene Glycol (PG) and Butylene Glycol (BG)
Petroleum
plastics. EPA warns to prevent skin contact as it causes brain, liver, and
kidney abnormalities. It is considered so toxic that it requires gloves,
clothing, goggles and disposal by burying.

5 Easy Natural Beauty Recipes
Natural Cures Not Medicine on Facebook: www.facebook.com/naturalcuresnotmedicine
Check out these five basic recipes that you can use to prepare wonderfully effective and totally green beauty products at home saving time, money, and planet. Each recipe can be prepared in 3 minutes or less and costs only a few cents per application.
1. Cucumber Lifting Face Mask
Chop 1/2 cucumber and blend in a food processor with 3 mint leaves and a pinch of sea salt. This mask de-puffs and tightens sallow, dull skin.
2. Homemade Baby Wipes
Combine 1 cup witch hazel, 1 tablespoon glycerin, 1/2 cup strong green tea, and 1/2 cup rosewater. Shake well until blended. Pour the mix into a container with a lid. Fill the container with squares of clean muslin cloth or cheese cloth, so that they are fully soaked with the herbal solution. Keep in cool place and use the wipes during 10 days. Then prepare a new batch. Adding vitamin C (up to 1/4 tsp) will extend the shelf life up to one month or even more.
3. Diaper rash solution
Combine green tea, fennel, chamomile and rosehip (1 teabag each) in a coffee press and fill it with hot water. Steep for five minutes and strain. Use the cool tea to spray on the sore areas. You can also use the herbal infusion on your face.
4. Acne Mask
Make a puree of 1 sweet onion, 1 garlic clove, 1 tsp honey and 1 tsp aloe juice in a food processor. Prepare several gauze pads the size of your face (cut out the round holes for eyes, since you don’t need the onion puree anywhere near eyes) and soak them in the smelly goo. Apply to your face for 10 minutes or until the mix dries up. Carefully remove and rinse the face clean.
5. Banana Bliss Hair Pack
This mask prevents and treats hair loss. Mash 1 ripe banana with 2 tbsp honey, 2 tbsp brandy or cognac, and 1 tsp apple cider vinegar. Apply generously to shampooed, towel-dried hair, cover with PVC-free shower cap and let sit for 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water.

How To Heal Sunburn Overnight
Sunburn Remedy:
Instant Relief and Overnight Healing - Sunburn healing supplies: Clean
washcloth, I love these organic cotton cloths, Raw apple cider vinegar, Organic
coconut oil. >Heal your sunburn overnight in just 2 steps:
First, wet the washcloth with cold water, then splash on the apple cider vinegar. Dab the wet cloth onto your sunburn, soaking the skin. You should notice instant relief from any stinging! It feels sooo good on a sunburn.
After a few minutes, your skin should be dry.
Now, liberally rub on some coconut oil to the sunburned area. By the next day, your skin should be significantly healed. I recommend continuing with the coconut oil for several days to promote healing and to help ease the skin peeling that is usually inevitable after a burn. Exfoliate and lubricate with more coconut oil!
This worked like a charm for my most recent sunburn. Immediate relief from the stinging, and literally the next day, it wasn’t red anymore. Maybe the slightest bit pink. But the sting never came back. Just to be sure, though, I dabbed on another round of the apple cider vinegar, let it dry, then followed with more coconut oil. The following day, it was just tanned skin!
Give this remedy a try next time you get a little too crispy from the sun, and say goodbye to that burn!

5 Natural Insect Repellents
Natural Cures Not Medicine on Facebook: www.facebook.com/naturalcuresnotmedicine
It’s
summer again and without little thought many people will be spraying bug sprays
on their skin like no tomorrow. Little do people know that when they put these
sprays and lotions on their skin, they are actually putting pesticides on their
body (insect sprays are pesticides known as insecticides). DEET is the active
ingredient in most conventional bug sprays and lotions. Few people know that
DEET is a registered pesticide and a member of the toluene chemical family.
What is toluene? Toluene is an organic solvent that is one of the main
ingredients in paint removers, as well as rubber and plastic cements. DEET
actually has the ability to melt plastic and synthetic fibers.
Your
skin is the largest organ of your body, and anything put on your skin gets
directly absorbed into your bloodstream. This means that when you spray DEET
containing repellents on your skin, it gets absorbed through the skin and
passes into the blood. Research has shown that up to 17% of the chemical DEET
is absorbed into the bloodstream once applied to the skin. Not only does it
cause skin irritation, but it has major effects on the central nervous system
by causing motor deficits and learning and memory dysfunction.
Putting
chemicals on our skin in any form, is not good for our health. Below are five
