The Trees Will Be Planted!

A huge thank you to everyone that cared and shared. Now we have to be 100% honest here... We took a short cut because we had a friends page that was raising money to plant trees. So before we did this post we actually already bought 500 trees to be planted just in case a lot of you complained saying we should plant them anyways! (which many of you did). Then you guys hit 1000 shares! So we were going to simply buy another 500 trees... So we just went to their website --> -- And over night people had donated the rest of the money so now its over! The good news is that 5000 tress have been planted. Now we don't want to take any of the credit but we did share this post a couple days ago. Hopefully a few of our fans helped out! We technically still owe you all another 500 trees to be planted... So if you follow these guys we can do a lot more than just another 500. We were hoping to shoot for something like 1 million. Shoot for the moon! More on this later. Here is the foundation that turns your donations into trees. -->

The many uses of baking soda

This stuff goes way beyond baking. Check it out!

There are so many uses for this stuff that it is hard to fit them all in one article!

-Clean brushes and combs:  Washing your grooming tools with a solution of water and baking soda will help to remove oil buildup and product residue that has accumulated over time.  There is no way you want to keep putting gunk in your hair when you brush or comb it.

-Non toxic toothpaste:  Mix some baking soda with a little bit of hydrogen peroxide, and peppermint oil for a natural, poison free brushing.  You can also add a drop of stevia extract or a sprinkle of powdered stevia to sweeten it up just a bit.

-Deodorize trash cans:  Prevent that seeping odor that comes from the trash can after a few uses by sprinkling some baking soda in the bottom of it.

-Bee stings:  Apply a paste of baking soda and water to your sting to help naturally relieve pain and inflammation.

-Block pests:  Line the bottoms of doors, windows, sinks, plugs, and other potential pathways to discourage ants and roaches from crossing into your domain.

-Deodorize shoes:  Do you use and abuse your shoes?  Sprinkle some baking soda in them to neutralize odors and keep your shoes from kicking when you are not wearing them.

-Dish cloths:   Remove the funk from that much used dish cloth by soaking it in a baking soda and water solution.

-Deodorize cat boxes:  Sprinkle some baking soda in your furry friend's litter box to help combat the persistent pet odor.

-Protect your garden:  Apply some baking soda to the areas around your vegetable garden to repel rabbits.

-Repel rain:  Applying a baking soda solution to your windshield can help to repel rain.

-Jelly fish:  If you have been stung by a jelly fish, you can apply baking soda to the surface of the injury to help draw out the venom.

Kale shakes are growing in popularity and here is why:

Blood health:  Due to its high iron content, kale helps with the formation of red blood cells.  In fact, kale contains more iron, calorie per calorie, than beef.

Eye health:  Kale assists in the process of storing nutrients in the retina.  The vitamin A in kale is known to promote healthy vision by protecting the eyes from optical disorders that come with old age.

Weight loss:  Vitamin C is found in kale which helps with losing excess fat by naturally increasing the metabolism, helping to maintain healthy blood sugar levels and prevent serious diseases.

Detoxification:  Kale contains good amounts of plant fiber and sulfur which help to remove toxins from the body, preventing inflammation and resulting health problems.

Heart health:  The high fiber content of kale shuffles out toxins and free radicals from the body which are known to cause inflammation, leading to heart disease.  Fiber is also shown to naturally lower cholesterol.

Anti inflammatory:  Omega 3 fatty acids found in kale can help to alleviate autoimmune disorders, asthma, and arthritis.  As stated before, vitamin C is found in kale also which is known as  the detox vitamin and removes toxins from the blood stream that would usually cause damage to tissue throughout the body, helping to further prevent systemic inflammation.

Throw a heaping handful of kale into your blender with a cup of almond milk, a tablespoon of raw honey, 3 strawberries, a carrot, a tablespoon of coconut or olive oil, a banana, and an orange for a mega health and energy boost that will have long lasting effects!

Known for its crisp and crunch, what celery should really be known for is its positive effects on your health.

Juice, blend, or enjoy the crunch of this disease preventing veggie for longer life!

-Anti cancer:  Coumarins are compounds that are found in celery and can prevent various types of cancers from forming.  At least 7 other different cancer fighting nutrients are also found in celery.

-Weight loss:  Though celery itself does not necessarily burn fat, it contains a great deal of dietary fiber which is filling and hardly any calories to go along.

-Cholesterol:  Raw celery juice can be used to help naturally lower unhealthy LDL cholesterol, thus protecting the heart and blood vessels.

-Kidney health:  Removing toxins from the body helps almost all living tissue avoid damage.  Celery is also thought to help prevent the formation of kidney stones as well.

-Blood pressure:  Phtalides are found in celery, which can naturally lower blood pressure by supporting proper blood flow.  These compounds dilate blood vessels by relaxing the surrounding muscles. 

-PH:  Celery or celery juice can help to balance the body's ph.  By preventing your system from becoming acidic, you greatly lower the chances of infections and cancers.  Alkalinity also supports healthy nervous system function.

-Digestion:  The plant based fibers contained in celery can provide for regular, non-strenuous bowel movements.  Celery is also thought to relax muscles overworked by taking store bought laxatives.

-Inflammation:  Celery is believed to have strong anti inflammatory effects.  Inflammation is an underlying cause for several diseases including heart disease, cancers, arthritis, gout, and autoimmune disorders.
