There is another side to this story, and it's not about big pharma. It is about researchers looking for a way forward to treat a horrible, insidious disease, finding a new route forward to a cure, and capital-driven free-market economies not having any ready 'structures' [ industrial, corporate, or even government ] in place that could bring their work to fruition.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this would be a really good idea for micro-funding? How many people around the world can chip in £3 - or more if the spirit takes them - knowing that it's going directly to developing a cure and not into some corporation's profit margin..?
