Deodorant contains dangerous ingredients: MAKE YOUR OWN

Your favorite deodorant might contain dangerous ingredients that can cause cancer, brain damage, and even liver abnormalities.

Just a couple simple ingredients is all you need for your All-Natural Deodorant:

1/4 Cup of Baking Soda (neutralizes odor)
1/4 Cup of Arrowroot starch (absorbs moisture)
4 Tb Coconut Oil (anti-bacterial and moisturizing) 1/4 tsp Tea Tree Oil (anti-bacterial)

Mix all ingredients together to form a paste/cream... and that's it!

WHY SHOULD YOU MAKE YOUR OWN OR NOT USE ANY?

3 of the worst deodorant ingredients are:

Parabens: (On the label* methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben or isobutylparaben) These are used in many skin care and cosmetic products. They act as a preservative to discourage bacteria and fungus. Research shows that parabens from lotions and deodorants can absorb into the body and weakly mimic estrogen causing damage to the endocrine system.
Aluminum: One of the main ingredients in many deodorants and antiperspirants is aluminum, which actually blocks the body from producing sweat. Aluminum has been known to cause neurological damage and contribute to diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Aluminum has been found to be able to enter and remain in a human bloodstream for up to two weeks after just one application of deodorant or antiperspirant.
Propelene Glycol:  is often used in deodorants and is also an ingredient in antifreeze. Factory workers who are exposed are warned of the danger of kidney, brain, and liver damage through skin contact.

    1. You may want to consider removing meat/dairy/sweets from your diet and adding more raw fruits and vegetables. Try using a slice of lime as "deodorant" for a couple of days to kill off some of the bacteria living in the skin of your armpits and then use the recipe here. Don't forget the Tea Tree oil, since it is anti-bacterial. You can boost the scent of your deodorant mixture with other essential oils like orange, cinnamon, rose, or whatever you like. Your local health food store associate can help you choose something that suits you.

    2. My daughter has been using this for a few months now. She is a 13yo dancer taking 3+ hours dance classes per day. Where all other natural deoderants have failed - this one works!

However, I find it too strong for my skin (I end up with slight chem burns) so I coat my arm pits in coconut oil first, then light dust with baking soda. Works well too!

  2. i am too lazy to mix ingredients so i have been using coconut oil alone as a deodorant; at first i didn't think it would be very effective, i just hoped it would help a bit. to my surprise it works just as well as any deodorant with the added bonus of being very soothing to the neglected skin of the underarm.

    1. Using a funnel inserted in your ear, try to pour some of the coconut into your head. Maybe it will soothe your calcified brain matter, if any.

    3. Actually, I think that this question is relevant as just as women complain of vaginal odour, men frequently complain of the same thing.
Personally, I would say yes, you could, but be more cautious of the sensitive orifices that these product could easily enter your body through.

    4. Actually, I think that this question is completely relevant as women and men both complain of feminine or masculine odour and that there are plenty of products that cater to people that want to mask these odours.

In my personal opinion, I would say yes, you could, juts make sure to take more precautions as these products could easily enter the obvious orifices directly into your body and be absorbed into the bloodstream at an extremely high amount.

  8. I would think if you are eating the right foods and raw juicing that you should begin to perspire without anymore odor. I know that it worked for me but still in the habit of grabbing the glide on deodorant. I have to stop that!

    2. Becoming vegetarian will help with some odors that exude from the skin in general, but underarm odor is mainly caused by the overgrowth of bacteria on the skin and will not be avoided by dietary changes. I have been vegetarian for 15 years and would go without a deodorant each day. I'm a major advocate for vegetarian/veganism, but some things are not going to be eliminated by it and natural skin flora is one of them.
