Why don't people watch this stuff more careful! This is terrible!
Are we allowing our pets to eat other dogs and cats? The shocking truth is yes. All you have to do is google "dead animals in pet food" you will come in contact with information that will blow your mind. Naturally the next question is, well, what should we feed our pets? We can't fully answer this question just yet, but we do know a lot of what we eat so can they with a few exceptions that are common knowledge. Shocking...
This is a shipment of cats and dogs from shelters that have been put down. They later are turned into dog and cat food....
Same with many other farm animals. They toss it all in.
I am sorry if this is the minority opinion, but forget not that Nature would turn these animals into food for something else and Dogs and cats will eat their deceased companions. Dogs and cats don't have a moral sense of cannibalism. I advice you not to get too caught up in attaching human emotion to this.

DeleteTotally agree we should use humans for consumption, why are wasting all the deceased. We should feed our dead to animals and vice a versa. Naturally we would ensure that all the limbs and organs are clean before consumption, damn getting hungry.

Deletei agree to but i'd add that if a cat or a dog food is made with cats and/or dogs meat they should write it on the label. specially if they breed and slaughter these animals to make the food as my pets maybe wouldn't mind but i'd surely do!
DeleteUm yeah, but those deceased companions, or other deaths didn't contain chemicals used in Euthanasia. When my pet had to get put down from euthanasia, I wasn't allowed to touch him because the chemicals. Yet we feed this to our pets. We wouldn't feed shit like this to our children.

They also put dead animals that started to rotten into pets food- also poison. They even throw them away with collars and tags, metal is poison for pets. And there are alot of parts that are not beneficial for pets to eat at all- like bones of those animals.

DeleteBut, do you have any idea how much and what kind of drugs and medicines were administered to these animals, while they were at the vets? How many had cancer, FIV, and so many other diseases. These carcasses are allowed to rot, along with the other no-value additives, like GMO wheat, sitting in outdoor garbage cans, which attracts flies, also carrying diseases. Then, they hit the whole thing with antibiotics and God only knows what else and sell it to the public to feed/kill their animals and then, the vets get rich and keep their jobs!

ReplyDeleteIt is true, my friend. There are many good books on this subject. I have one packed away, which I read in the late 90's on this very matter. After the mixture rots, they pump antibiotics into it and sugar to make it taste sweet to the animals. This is very true. God bless you in your research.

DeleteI disagree. Cats and dogs usually do not eat their own dead unless they are starving to death. And feeding them dead animals that could have been diseased is disgusting, plus unhealthy. Cannibalism has an effect on most species. Humans can develop a disease similar to mad cow. I have no doubt the same can apply to pets.

In your opinion Joshua, just because dogs or cats might not have moral sense, we should feed them conspecifics? While knowing this will result in diseases such as cancer and who knows what other strange behaviour or feelings?
ReplyDeleteI guess this is proof that even not all humans have morals. If pets die due to such causes, I think there will be human emotions attached. So if you can extend the life of your pet by buying decent food, why not?
The problem isn't them eating the cats / dogs but ingesting the lethal substance that was used to put the animals down.
