Illinois illegally seizes bees resistant to Monsanto's Roundup

The Illinois Ag Dept.  illegally seized privately owned bees from renowned naturalist, Terrence Ingram, without providing him with a search warrant and before the court hearing on the matter, reports Prairie Advocate News.

Behind the obvious violations of his Constitutional rights is Monsanto. Ingram was researching Roundup’s effects on bees, which he’s raised for 58 years.  “They ruined 15 years of my research,” he told Prairie Advocate, by stealing most of his stock.

A certified letter from the Ag Dept.’s Apiary Inspection Supervisor, Steven D. Chard, stated:

“During a routine inspection of your honeybee colonies by … Inspectors Susan Kivikko and Eleanor Balson on October 23, 2011, the bacterial disease ‘American Foulbrood’ was detected in a number of colonies located behind your house…. Presence of the disease in some of your colonies was confirmed via test results from the USDA Bee Research Laboratory in Beltsville, Maryland that analyzed samples collected from your apiary….”

Ingram can prove his bees did not have foulbrood, and planned to do so at a hearing set in April, but the state seized his bees at the end of March. They have not returned them and no one at the Ag Dept. seems to know where his bees are.

The bees could have been destroyed, or they could have been turned over to Monsanto to ascertain why some of his bees are resistant to Roundup. Without the bees as evidence, Ingram simply cannot defend against the phony charges of foulbrood.

Worse, all his queens died after Kivikko and Balson “inspected” his property, outside of his presence and without a warrant.

Of note, Illinois beekeepers are going underground after Ingram’s experience and refuse to register their hives, in case the state tries to steal their private property on phony claims.

  1. If true then it government complicity in illegal business practices. I would love to see more info and perhaps links to this from other media sources and if satisfied I will post the hell out of this all over Facebook, Google+, and any social media, news sources, and government entities I can.

  6. It's an outrage. But then again, what can one expect from a company that was part of the cold war and are used to making use of covert operations to meet their objectives? Monsanto has always operated on the periphery of society in the shadows of the clandestine world which is the intelligence community of this world. Even though they claim to be a company in the business of agriculture they are only thugs that perform the dirty work of the powers that be. They are enemies of the world and they should one day stand trial for crimes against humanity.

  11. This makes me so angry! Department of Ag in the chemical business. Violating citizen rights to promote profit and secrecy. I hope this goes viral! Beekeepers need to go underground to protect the bees?? Soon organic farmers of all kinds will have to join the pot growers. Really disgusting. Very glad I saw this! Down with Monsanto.

  12. I feel totally outraged about this! Just more unfair treatment by the government. Monsanto wants to have full control of our food industry, I believe that is why this is being done. People better start reacting to the many outrageous actions that the government is taking, before it is too late.

  21. This just goes beyond the pale. It is truly disheartening to confirm that corporations like Monsanto have such a stranglehold on the American legal system and are holding people hostage to their profit motivated agenda.

  23. I think this is just typical of monsanto s tactics and I'm absolutely horrified that they have the nerve to do this. I feel so sorry for this man. I just hope and pray that their influence remains comparitively minimal over here in the UK.

  25. Excellent piece. Excellent suggestion at the end. I have suggest on several occasions that if a person is developing something that is outside of the corporate-controlled paradigm that a functional 'nugget' of re research should be kept separate and in secret. It wouldn't hurt to have BOTH the overt and covert operations under cyber-surveillance with recording and tapes sent live to insulated remote storage sites. Our government, now that it is under corporate domination, is no longer concerned with democracy or legality.

    1. ...and yet the government continually tries to establish "democracy" in other countries around the world (Iraq, Afghanistan, etc). Seeing as the government "is no longer concerned with democracy or legality", one would assume this is all just a part of the plan to establish their so-called "New World Order". It makes me wonder what the corporations that sit behind the government could/would do with such a totalitarianistic regime and to what extent. I am seriously worried about the future for all mankind.

  26. Suddenly large corporations seem to have become powerful enough to control governments. Has anyone read 'Brave New world'? Hide your bees, move hives around and never have them all in one place. Tell nobody if you make important findings until you have documented proof and irrefutable evidence and even then take care to hide your hives. Arrange to cross your resistant bees with wild bees without telling anyone. Governments all over the world have turned against the people and we have to become 'the underground movement' and play clever.

  27. Outrageous! Monsanto must be working on its own drug to sell, for it to kill its competition like that. Poor man, all this ingenious work, destroyed like that. You don't kill fire with fire, Monsanto is an evil corporation for that. I will no stand up for this.

  28. Your rights WERE violated ! I am glad that all of the other beekeepers are going underground..... Those people had no right to come on to your property without a warrant and take your property. And we all know WHY.... don't we.

  33. Roundup is a herbicide, not a pesticide. Everything but plants is "resistant" to it. He had foulbrood, and now this is some internet conspiracy legend...
