Is Chewing Gum really the Most Toxic Substance in the Supermarket?
The number 1 Ingredient : Gum Base.
Imagine if someone said, “Hey, would you like to chew on some tire rubber or plastic?” You probably would politely decline. (maybe laugh) But this isn't far off what gum is; “Gum base” is a blend of elastomers, plasticizers, fillers, and resins. Other ingredients are polyvinyl acetate, which is frequently referred to as
“carpenter glue”. Paraffin wax is another ingredient that is a byproduct of refined petroleum.
So is chewing plastic, petroleum and rubber safe? As you chew, these substances leach into the mouth and body. And the answer is NO. This is not good for you.
Some people don't have 30 seconds to google or research themselves. They like all the information handed to them in a silver spoon. So here you go.

ReplyDeleteI started chewing gum when I quite smoking and have been chewing it almost constantly since then. I thought I was giving up on of the worst toxins and that gum would be a safe substitute. I even talked to the dentist and he said sugarless gum helped keep you teeth clean. So now I have to kick my gum habit!!! If it's not salt, sweet n low, plastic bottles, fat, ......... And we wonder why there is more autism, infertility, cancer, mental illness, heart disease etc.
