You Won't Believe What was Found in McDonald's New Chicken Wings

If you're still not convinced you should avoid McDonald's, here is yet another reason. Katherine Ortega took her 5-year-old son to a Newport McDonald's, where they bought a box of fried chicken wings (a special promotion). As she passed them around her dinner table, she realized that one of the wings wasn't a wing at all.

I'll Have A Side Order of Chicken McNoggin Please

What happened to Katherine Ortega in a Newport McDonald's is perhaps one of the most disturbing reports after being verified by the news station WVEC-TV in Newport as well as the Washington Post.

Many McDonald's franchises sell Mighty Wings as part of their Chicken & Fish menu.

One afternoon, Katherine Ortega brought home an order of the McDonald's wings. As she passed them around her dinner table, she realized that one of the wings wasn't a wing! She called WVEC-TV, Channel 13 in Newport News. They thought it was a hoax until they dispatched a cameraman to Ortega's home.

She called WVEC-TV, Channel 13 in Newport News. They thought it was a hoax until they dispatched a cameraman to Ortega's home.

"Our cameraman called in and said, 'The batter on the chicken head is the exact match of all the rest of the pieces of chicken,' " reported WVEC news director Jim Tellus.

Actual News Clipping From Newport News

The facts:

  • Reporters who were allowed to examine the head said that it looked real and that the fried batter matched the other wings and what would be on expected on such a product.
  • The woman allowed reporters to take video and photos of the head, which have not been discredited.
  • Ortega never went through with a lawsuit, but maintains the story to be true.

Damage Control

The franchise owner met to discuss the situation (translation: "How much do you want?"); and issued a sober statement promising a "thorough investigation" and that Ortega didn't return a call seeking comment; that the U.S. Department of Agriculture is investigating.

The Ortegas at one point announced they had hired a lawyer and were contemplating a lawsuit against McDonald's. Legal experts didn't think the family would win an award much higher than a couple of thousand dollars because no one ate the piece or was physically harmed by it. Even in our litigious society, harm has to be demonstrated, and it's not enough just to claim "I was grossed out by this" to gain the big bucks, however any no lawsuit was pursued and no specific amount was settled or disclosed by either party

An enforcement officer at the U.S. Department of Agriculture who looked into the case was at a loss to explain how the head ended up in Ortega's order of wings. The first thing that happens in the processing of live chickens into poultry parts is their beheading, with the heads immediately being discarded. The carcasses then go on to the next stage (which is being dropped into the boiling water to de-feather them). Though the process is mostly mechanized, a plant operator helps with evisceration (the removal of the bird's internal organs) and an on-site USDA inspector is supposed to check each and every chicken. How both could have missed a chicken head going through is a mystery.

How Many More Reasons Are Needed To Stay Away From McDonald's?

Thanks to the transparency campaign initiated by McDonald's last year people are more familiar with the processing methods and ingredients that go into their menu. Recently we reported that consumers found out McDonald's french fries contain 17 ingredients.

Over a decade ago, after being plagued by health critics and flattening sales, they launched their biggest change to their menu in 30 years with a newly improved and modified salad menu. Consumers then found out that their Caesar salad with Chicken Premiere contained 18.4 grams of fat compared with 11.5 grams of fat in a standard cheeseburger. Yes, their salad had more fat than their cheeseburger.

Then of course there is the famous "pink slime" which was mostly beef containing ammonium hydroxide-treated ground connective tissue and meat scraps commonly used in dog and chicken food. Celebrity chef and safe food advocate Jamie Oliver featured the substance and called for its ban on the April 12, 2011 episode of Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution, which may have influenced McDonald's to stop using beef patties containing the filler.

Man May Lose Custody of His Son After Refusing to Take Him to McDonald's

In yet another instance of government overreach into family life, a New York dad may lose custody of his son for not taking him to McDonald's for dinner after the child refused to eat anywhere else.

Here are the parents. Image: nydailynews.com
David Shorr insisted that his son was given the option to "eat anywhere but McDonald's", after which his son threw a "temper tantrum" and refused to eat anything for dinner. According the Shorr's defamation suit, he then brought his son to his mother's house to drop him off. The parents, who are in the middle of a high tension divorce, are now arguing over this McDonald's incident in the fight for custody.

Shorr claims that he didn't want his son eating Mcdonald's "because his son had been eating too much junk food," however court-assigned psychologist Marilyn Schiller has deemed Shorr unfit for parenting after letting his child choose not to eat rather than take him to McDonald's.

Reflecting on the situation, Shorr stated that "I wish I had taken him to McDonald’s, but you get nervous about rewarding bad behavior."

Shorr said his wife immediately took their child to McDonald's after he brought him home, so he ended up eating.

BREAKING: McDonald’s sues Australian town for rejecting its fast food

Image: www.campusscope.co.kr
(NaturalNews) Plans by fast food giant McDonald's to build its first restaurant in the Australian town of Tecoma, located in the state of Victoria, are being challenged by nearly 100,000 individuals who recently signed a petition demanding that McDonald's stay out of the area. According to Yahoo! TV in Australia, representatives from an activist group known as BurgerOff recently flew 10,000 miles to the McDonald's global headquarters near Chicago to deliver the petition and signatures, which company officials reportedly refused to touch.

For over two years, BurgerOff and the people of Tecoma have been fighting to keep McDonald's out of their town, pointing out that the company's intent to build a large, 24-hour drive-thru location near an elementary school would be "a giant advertisement for junk food" for young children who would walk by it daily. But according to the International Business Times, this massive grassroots effort that has included public demonstrations, flash mobs, social media and other forms of community outreach has thus far been unsuccessful at thwarting McDonald's plans.

So to raise the stakes, BurgerOff went straight to the heart of the beast, bringing along signs, petitions and plenty of fervor, which has put the effort in the global spotlight. The group even set up little inflatable kangaroos at a busy McDonald's location in Chicago, which helped draw even more attention. The ultimate goal of the protest, of course, is to show McDonald's that it is not welcome in Tecoma and needs to look elsewhere for its expansion endeavors.

"They sent out a P.R. [public relations] lady and a guy from corporate responsibility," explained Garry Muratore, a Tecoma McDonald's protester, to Australia's Sunrise Live recently about how McDonald's responded to the arrival of four BurgerOff members. "They wouldn't touch the actual petition; it was like we were giving them poison. They handed the 7,000 pages [of the petition] to a poor security guard there."

Despite the fact that the vast majority of Tecoma residents, according to Muratore, are in opposition to the project, McDonald's plans to move forward with it anyway. The company has even gone so far as to file a lawsuit against the protesters in an effort to keep them away from the proposed construction site, alleging that the project is well supported throughout the local community. But according to Muratore, this claim is absolutely false.

"That's a lie that McDonald's in Australia keeps pushing," he told reporters. "We know that nine out of 10 people don't want this."

McDonald's claims lawsuit will somehow 'protect' people of Tecoma

Muratore and his allies have, of course, challenged McDonald's on this claim. But the response they received is both nonsensical and almost cryptic, as the burger giant claims that suing the protesters is the best way to protect them.

"We then pointed out that if they were being responsible, why are they suing us? And it was a little bit like the quote from the Vietnam War that we had to destroy the village to save it," added Muratore. "They actually told us that they were suing us for our own legal protection... I don't know what that meant, but they seemed to think it was a great idea."

McDonald's revenue down, blames economy instead of unhealthy products

From Forbes:
"Was the introduction of the pumpkin spice latte too little, too late? McDonald's MCD -0.82% released its third quarter 2013 earnings on Monday morning, and the results were mixed, with better-than-expected earnings per share but revenue that was on the light side — which the company attributed to a challenging global environment."
Then:
"In a statement, CEO Don Thompson attributed the third quarter’s mixed results to a challenging global environment. One particular weakness was sales in Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA), which declined 1.4% for the quarter. Third quarter operating income declined 12%, which the company said reflected “weakness” in China, Japan and Australia due to an “ongoing” challenging macro environment."

Of course it's not McDonald's fault, it's some other reason: trust them, they care about you! Let's not mention the fact that people are simply eating less fast food. And let's not mention the fact that McDonald's reputation has taken a huge hit in the last year after revelations that Chicken McNuggets aren't really "chicken" after all.

This, combined with the growing food consciousness swelling around the world and the heavy opposition to processed and GMO foods, seems to be a recipe for disaster for the 'Big Food' chains as they face ever stiffer competition from healthier alternatives like Chipotle, which has already vowed to label GMOs in their food.

The problem with McDonald's argument that the economy is to blame is that it runs contrary to political establishment and mainstream media rhetoric that the economy has recovered.

So who's lying? Is the government lying to us and saying that economy is recovered to keep people calm, just like they are doing by refusing to acknowledge that the entire Pacific ocean is now polluted from the continued meltdown at Fukushima. Many analysts think that the economy is actually in worse shape than it was before the recession started, given the 17 trillion national debt and the highest percentage of people not in the work force in 35 years. Maybe by economic recovery they mean that the stock market is soaring to new highs due to the $1 trillion being pumped directly into the the banks from the Federal Reserve each year: making the 1 percenters richer than ever, while driving record numbers of working class Americans into poverty and government assisted living

And let's not even talk about the mainstream media coverage. The last mainstream article about Fukushima didn't even bother to mention that the radiation has already been pounding the West Coast of the US and Canada, nearly all tuna being caught in the Pacific have record levels of radiation contamination, and very well could be responsible for the two Oar Fish and Saber Toothed whale that have recently washed ashore in California.

Or is McDonald's lying to us, denying that their inferior products are the actually the cause of their lost profits and their shift to "healthier" food is too little, too late?

McDonald's has a vested interest in the media thanks to their massive advertisement spending, causing large networks who profit from their ad money to think twice about running a negative story on them. This could explain the fact that alternative media outlets have recently taken McDonald's to task over strange fibers, or Morgellon's, that were found in chicken nuggets while the mainstream has been silent, all the more reason to support independent media outlets like NaturalCuresNotMedicine.com.

So what are your thoughts? Is McDonald's telling the truth about the economy, or is the government telling the truth that the economy is good and McDonald's products are to blame for their decreased revenue? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

McDonald's closing all restaurants in Bolivia after massive boycott

(NaturalNews) McDonald’s happy image and its golden arches aren’t the gateway to bliss in Bolivia. This South American country isn’t falling for the barrage of advertising and fast food cooking methods that so easily engulf countries like the United States. Bolivians simply don’t trust food prepared in such little time. The quick and easy, mass production method of fast food actually turns Bolivians off altogether. Sixty percent of Bolivians are an indigenous population who generally don’t find it worth their health or money to step foot in a McDonald’s. Despite its economically friendly fast food prices, McDonald’s couldn’t coax enough of the indigenous population of Bolivia to eat their BigMacs, McNuggets or McRibs.

One indigenous woman, Esther Choque, waiting for a bus to arrive outside a McDonald’s restaurant, said, “The closest I ever came was one day when a rain shower fell and I climbed the steps to keep dry by the door. Then they came out and shooed me away. They said I was dirtying the place. Why would I care if McDonald’s leaves [Bolivia]?”

FAST FOOD CHAIN REMAINED FOR A DECADE, DESPITE LOSSES EVERY YEAR

The eight remaining McDonald’s fast food shops that stuck it out in the Bolivian city’s of La Paz, Cochabamba, and Santa Cruz de la Sierra, had reportedly operated on losses every year for a decade. The McDonald’s franchise had been persistent over that time, flexing its franchise’s deep pockets to continue business in Bolivia.
Any small business operating in the red for that long would have folded and left the area in less than half that time. Even as persistent as McDonald’s  was in gaining influence there, it couldn’t continue operating in the red. After 14 years of presence in the country, their extensive network couldn’t hold up the Bolivian chain. Store after store shut down as Bolivia rejected the McDonald’s fast food agenda. Soon enough, they kissed the last McDonald’s goodbye.

DEEP CULTURAL REJECTION

The McDonald’s impact and its departure from Bolivia was so lasting and important, that marketing managers immediately filmed a documentary called, “Why McDonalds’s went broke in Boliva.”
Featuring, cooks, nutritionist, historians, and educators, this documentary breaks down the disgusting reality of how McDonald’s food is prepared and why Bolivians reject the whole fast food philosophy of eating.

The rejection isn’t necessarily based on the taste or the type of food McDonald’s prepared. The rejection of the fast food system stemmed from Bolivian’s mindset of how meals are to be properly prepared. Bolivians more so respect their bodies, valuing the quality of what goes into their stomach. The time it takes for fast food to be prepared throws up a warning flag in their minds. Where other cultures see no risk, eating McDonald’s every week; Bolivians feel that it just isn’t worth the health risk. Bolivians seek well prepared, local meals, and want to know that their food was prepared the right way.
This self respect helps Bolivians avoid processed “restructured meat technology,” often used by fast food joints like McDonald’s.

THE MCRIB: 70 INGREDIENTS ALL RESTRUCTURED INTO ONE

Did you know that the McRib is processed with 70 different ingredients which include azodicarbonamide, a flour-bleaching agent often used in producing foamed plastics? McRib’s are basically “restructured meat technology” containing a mixture of tripe, heart, and scalded stomach. Proteins are extracted from this muscle mixture and they bind the pork trimmings together so they can be molded in a factory. The McRib is really just a molded blob of restructured meat, advertised and sold like fresh ribs. There’s nothing real about it, the preparation or the substance. In fact, McRibs really came about because of a chicken shortage. The restructured meat technology approach kept the McRib on the menu, despite the shortage, and the profits continued rolling in. This is the very disgusting idea that the Bolivians have rejected in their country.

THE BOLIVIAN REJECTION OF MCDONALD’S HAS SET A PROPER EXAMPLE FOR THE REST OF THE WORLD TO FOLLOW.
