Spain Study Confirms Hemp Oil Cures Cancer Without Side Effects

The International Medical Veritas Association (IMVA) is putting hemp oil on its cancer protocol. It is a prioritized protocol list whose top five items are magnesium chloride, iodine, selenium, Alpha Lipoic Acid and sodium bicarbonate. It makes perfect sense to drop hemp oil right into the middle of this nutritional crossfire of anti cancer medicines, which are all available without prescription.

Image: rawforbeauty.com
Hemp oil has long been recognised as one of the most versatile and beneficial substances known to man. Derived from hemp seeds (a member of the achene family of fruits) it has been regarded as a superfood due to its high essential fatty acid content and the unique ratio of omega3 to omega6 and gamma linolenic acid (GLA) – 2:5:1. Hemp oil, is known to contain up to 5% of pure GLA, a much higher concentration than any other plant, even higher than spirulina. For thousands of years, the hemp plant has been used in elixirs and medicinal teas because of its healing properties and now medical science is zeroing in on the properties of its active substances.

Both the commercial legal type of hemp oil and the illegal THC laden hemp oil are one of the most power-packed protein sources available in the plant kingdom. Its oil can be used in many nutritional and transdermal applications. In other chapters in my Winning the War on Cancer book we will discuss in-depth about GLA and cancer and also the interesting work of Dr. Johanna Budwig. She uses flax seed oil instead of hemp oil to cure cancer – through effecting changes in cell walls – using these omega3 and omega6 laden medicinal oils.
Actually there is another way to use medical marijuana without smoking the leaf. According to Dr. Tod H. Mikuriya, “The usual irritating and toxic breakdown products of burning utilized with smoking are totally avoided with vaporization. Extraction and inhaling cannabinoid essential oils below ignition temperature of both crude and refined cannabis products affords significant mitigation of irritation to the oral cavity, and tracheobronchial tree from pyrollytic breakdown products.

Epileptic Child Healed With Rare Type of Marijuana

by Luana Munoz – Fox40.com

MODESTO, CA–For 7-year-old Jayden David, who suffers from Epilepsy, being able to make sounds or even use his fingers to push a button is something doctors never believed could happen.
Image: fox40.com

“Jayden’s life was being tortured by pharmaceutical drugs and from seizures,” said Jayden’s father, Jason David. “Jayden was having seizures everyday of his life until he was about 4 1/2.”

Some of Jayden’s seizures lasted over an hour and a half long — all while he was also taking 20 pharmaceutical pills a day.

Jayden’s life changed, however, when Jason discovered Cannabidiol, or CBD, a rare type of medical marijuana. See the video evidence here

“Jayden’s seizures are down approximately 80%. Jayden is functioning now. The doctors told me Jayden would never walk or talk,” said David.

Unlike most marijuana, CBD does not have the same psychological impact or high.

“I gave it to my son in a liquid form. It is non-psychoactive and it was the first day he went seizure free in his life,” said David.

However, CBD is not easy to find. Only one dispensary in Modesto carried it until it was shut down.

“It is a life and death situation for our children. We are parents, not pot heads. I consider myself a caregiver. I should not have to feel like a criminal,” said David.

Jayden has suffered severe withdrawals from being weened off the pharmaceutical pills that Jason has now reduced to just one.

Jason says he will continue to fight for his sons health. He plans to go before the Modesto city council this Tuesday to plead his case.

“I understand people do it for the wrong reasons, but people do pharmaceuticals for the wrong reasons. People do a lot of things for the wrong reason. We are doing it for the right reason,” said David.

Study: suicide rates falling in medical marijuana states

“We conclude that the legalization of medical marijuana leads to an improvement in the psychological well being of young adult males, an improvement that is reflected in fewer suicides.”

This story didn’t make it past the network news filters, was ignored by the mainstream media, and numerous mental health/suicide prevention organizations would not even comment about it!
Wall Street Journal – Does Medical Marijuana Reduces Suicides?

Image: www.marijuana.com
American Independent – Study: Suicide Rates Fall When States Legalize Medical Marijuana

Why would a “good news” marijuana story, like where suicides markedly declined, be ignored by the media? Now some truth and daylight as reported by three American researchers who had their findings published by the Institute for the Study of Labor in Bonn, Germany. Why wouldn't it be published in the U.S.? Is it safe for a researcher and his or her future academic funding to challenge government dogma and publish contrary evidence domestically? Apparently it may not be, because it contradicts the misinformation and the socially engineered negative propaganda campaign against marijuana by self-serving interests since 1937. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGZEMwMx2vk

If the results of this study reported the opposite results, it would be the lead headline nationwide, I assure you. The emperor truly has no clothes!

• Marijuana improves the “psychological well being” of young adult males and saves lives!

• Marijuana’s major actions are that of an anti-depressant, anti-anxiety and anti-anger medication.

• Marijuana reduces alcohol consumption in this at risk population.

Can it to be used prevent suicide in a high-risk population? And what exactly is this state of “improved psychological well being?” It has been described and supported with evidence as the “cannabinoid homeostatic healing perspective” (CHHP) and the “psychology of optimal experience.” Marijuana’s therapeutic effect requires immediate further research, as the suicide study emphasizes. Do you really have to be sick to get benefit from cannabis? Isn’t relaxation itself medicinal?

From: “High on Life? Medical Marijuana Laws and Suicide” / Jan 2012 (Anderson, Rees, Sabia)

Abstract: Using state-level data (from Centers for Disease Control) for the period 1990 through 2007, we estimate the effect of legalizing medical marijuana on suicide rates. “There have been no previous attempts to estimate the effect of medical marijuana laws on completed suicides, the tenth leading cause of death in the United States.” (National Institute of Mental Health 2010) Data from states where medical marijuana is legal, looking back three years prior to legalization, the year of legalization (year zero) and three years’ post-legalization was compared against data on suicide rates in prohibition states.

“Our results suggest that the passage of a medical marijuana law is associated with an almost 5 percent reduction in the total suicide rate. “An 11 percent reduction in the suicide rate of 20- through 29-year-old males; and a 9 percent reduction in the suicide rate of 30- through 39-year-old males.” “We conclude that the legalization of medical marijuana leads to an improvement in the psychological well being of young adult males, an improvement that is reflected in fewer suicides.”

In an often-cited article by Hamermesh and Soss (1974), who were the first economists to model suicidal behavior, and according to their “economic theory of suicide,” negative shocks to happiness can reduce expected lifetime utility to the point where an individual will decide to take his or her own life,” overwhelming the individual’s ability to maintain homeostasis. “Even if a shock is perceived to be temporary, an individual with ‘time inconsistent preferences’ may commit suicide at the prospect of having to cope with an acutely painful state in the present.” “Consistent with the hypothesis that marijuana can be an effective treatment for depression and other mood disorders, there appears to be a decrease in the suicide rate of 15-19 year-old males in the treatment states as compared to the prohibition states for approximately two years after legalization.”

“A similar decrease can be seen for males 20-59 and there is a moderate decrease in males 60 years or older three years after legalization.” In addition, this downward trend in suicides in states post-legalization was especially pronounced in males as was the risk of suicide by decreasing alcohol consumption. “The total suicide rate falls smoothly during the pre-legalization period in both MML (medical marijuana law) and non-MML states. “However, beginning in year zero, the trends diverge: the suicide rate in MML states continues to fall, while the suicide rate in states that never legalized medical marijuana begins to climb gradually.” http://blog.norml.org/2012/02/21/study-passage-of-medical-marijuana-laws-correlated-with-fewer-suicides/
The negative relationship between legalization and suicides among young adult males is consistent with the argument that marijuana can be used to cope with such shocks. However, estimates provide an alternative explanation. These authors found that the passage of MMLs (medical marijuana laws) led to sharp decreases in alcohol-related traffic fatalities, self-reported alcohol use, and per capita beer sales. The strong association between alcohol consumption and suicide-related outcomes found by previous researchers raises the possibility that medical marijuana laws reduce the risk of suicide by decreasing alcohol consumption.

And in a very sad, related story that we all need to be mindful of: “More U.S. Soldiers Killed Themselves than Died in Combat in 2010” “For the second year in a row, more American soldiers — both enlisted men and women and veterans — committed suicide than were killed in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Excluding accidents and illness, 462 soldiers died in combat, while 468 committed suicide. A difference of six isn’t vast by any means, but the symbolism is significant and troubling. In 2009, there were 381 suicides by military personnel, a number that also exceeded the number of combat deaths.” So, do you really have to be sick to benefit from cannabis? Isn’t relaxation itself medicinal?

The future is now! My last several posts have focused on evidence gathered over the last 10 years that shows marijuana can treat anxiety, depression, PTSD, and simultaneously increases subjective well being and positive states of cognitive, emotional and existential wellness. This study provides the numbers and stats to validate these claims. It provides evidence supporting marijuana’s positive psychology/happiness effects and the very topic of my recent post: marijuana and the psychology of optimal experience. When you ask people why they smoke marijuana, the most common answer is that it helps them relax and makes them feel better. That makes it medicine, and the word medical is redundant when talking about cannabis.

“Suicide is not chosen; it happens when pain exceeds resources for coping with pain.” Medical marijuana patients are able to reduce their use of painkillers, tranquilizers, and other psychiatric medicines! Isn’t it ironic that all antidepressants advertised on T.V. have increased suicide behavior as one of the many major side effects? Perhaps another variable at work here is that when people switch to safer marijuana to treat depression the prescription side effect of suicide goes away?

SuicideNoteMarijuana restores homeostasis to the mind, similar to a period of mindfulness meditation or yoga. Marijuana reduces hostility, depression and anxiety, and blocks traumatic memories. Marijuana increases introspection, metacognition, calmness and laughter. Marijuana is unique among illegal drugs in its political symbolism, its safety, and its wide use. Smoking marijuana will never kill you; it is the antidote to modern life, it is medicine by popular vote! In 2007, the suicide rate was 11.26 per every 100,000 people. The population of the U.S. as of March 2, 2012 was 313,113,996. Approximately 35,250 suicide deaths occurred nationwide in 2007; a 5 percent decrease in suicide rate due to marijuana legalization would theoretically save almost 1,800 lives per year. The U.S. has been shoving our failed drug policy down the throats of countries around the world and and of citizens at home for decades. All of those in favor of a serious and honest debate say “Aye!”

Harvard Study Shows “Marijuana Cuts Lung Cancer Tumor Growth In Half”

Natural Cures Not Medicine on Facebook: www.facebook.com/naturalcuresnotmedicine

Science Daily

The active ingredient in marijuana cuts tumor growth in common lung cancer in half and significantly reduces the ability of the cancer to spread, say researchers at Harvard University who tested the chemical in both lab and mouse studies.
Image: Wisconsin Department of Justice

They say this is the first set of experiments to show that the compound, Delta-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), inhibits EGF-induced growth and migration in epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) expressing non-small cell lung cancer cell lines. Lung cancers that over-express EGFR are usually highly aggressive and resistant to chemotherapy.

THC that targets cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2 is similar in function to endocannabinoids, which are cannabinoids that are naturally produced in the body and activate these receptors. The researchers suggest that THC or other designer agents that activate these receptors might be used in a targeted fashion to treat lung cancer.

“The beauty of this study is that we are showing that a substance of abuse, if used prudently, may offer a new road to therapy against lung cancer,” said Anju Preet, Ph.D., a researcher in the Division of Experimental Medicine.

Acting through cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2, endocannabinoids (as well as THC) are thought to play a role in variety of biological functions, including pain and anxiety control, and inflammation. Although a medical derivative of THC, known as Marinol, has been approved for use as an appetite stimulant for cancer patients, and a small number of U.S. states allow use of medical marijuana to treat the same side effect, few studies have shown that THC might have anti-tumor activity, Preet says. The only clinical trial testing THC as a treatment against cancer growth was a recently completed British pilot study in human glioblastoma.

In the present study, the researchers first demonstrated that two different lung cancer cell lines as well as patient lung tumor samples express CB1 and CB2, and that non-toxic doses of THC inhibited growth and spread in the cell lines. “When the cells are pretreated with THC, they have less EGFR stimulated invasion as measured by various in-vitro assays,” Preet said.

Then, for three weeks, researchers injected standard doses of THC into mice that had been implanted with human lung cancer cells, and found that tumors were reduced in size and weight by about 50 percent in treated animals compared to a control group. There was also about a 60 percent reduction in cancer lesions on the lungs in these mice as well as a significant reduction in protein markers associated with cancer progression, Preet says.

There’s still a lot of confusion across the nation about whether or not marijuana is effective for cancer patients. Odds are you’ve heard something about it but weren’t sure whether the information was reliable or definitive. So, in order to help clear things up, here is a list of 34 studies showing that marijuana cures cancer, categorized by the type of cancers being cured in each study. As you sort through the articles, note that the consistent theme between them is that cannabis shrinks tumors and selectively targets cancer cells. As bills and voter initiatives to legalize medical marijuana spread from state to state, remember that we’re not just talking about mitigating the side effects of chemo (though this is another viable use), we’re talking about curing the cancer itself as well as preventing its spread. I’ve taken the liberty of only including articles from credible scientific journals, removing any biased or otherwise improperly cited studies. Enjoy!

Sanjay Gupta's Weed Reversal Reveals Failing Propaganda War

Natural Cures Not Medicine on Facebook: www.facebook.com/naturalcuresnotmedicine

Image: Shaggy
One can only speculate as to the timing of Sanjay Gupta's supposed realization that cannabis is actually good for your health. As many people have come to realize, the mainstream media, which of course includes CNN, has turned into a mouth-piece of the government establishment: going so far as getting family members of media executives to be employed by the White House. The revolving door can also be seen going the other way with multiple examples similar to Mike Huckabee going from presidential candidate to news anchor and CNN reporter Dana Bash's marriage to Jeremy Bash, Leon Panetta's Chief of Staff.

One thing we do know as fact is that the 'War on Drugs' is a cause supported by both establishment parties, which could also explain why the program is perpetuated by both the "conservative" and "liberal" media. Anyone who spends a few hours switching from Fox News to MSNBC or CNN can see that the news media will cover for certain parties, politicians, and policies more favorably: usually on a partisan basis, seeking to divide people down party lines.

When a policy is supported by both parties and all wings of the media, there is something clearly wrong.  CNN's Dr. Gupta's sudden change of heart on marijuana policy should not come as a surprise when thinking of it in a common sense way, seeing as the majority of Americans now support marijuana legalization. With the slow but steady shift in the marijuana debate now favoring those who believe it should be decriminalized for medical use or even legalized for recreational use, the anti-cannabis propagandists are now being forced to capitulate into defeat, and Dr. Guptas episode will only serve as fuel to the 'legalize it' fire now raging in dozens of states.

So why is the government-media-complex so afraid of marijuana? There are a few reasons. The government, media, and most large corporations are all owned by a small elite group of billionaires who have many different interests at stake. The many health benefits of cannabis alone is enough to scare the Big Pharma companies. Here are the top 5 contributors to anti-marijuana causes according to republicreport.org
1.) Police Unions: Police departments across the country have become dependent on federal drug war grants to finance their budget. In March, we published a story revealing that a police union lobbyist in California coordinated the effort to defeat Prop 19, a ballot measure in 2010 to legalize marijuana, while helping his police department clients collect tens of millions in federal marijuana-eradication grants. And it’s not just in California. Federal lobbying disclosures show that other police union lobbyists have pushed for stiffer penalties for marijuana-related crimes nationwide.
2.) Private Prisons Corporations: Private prison corporations make millions by incarcerating people who have been imprisoned for drug crimes, including marijuana. As Republic Report’s Matt Stoller noted last year, Corrections Corporation of America, one of the largest for-profit prison companies, revealed in a regulatory filing that continuing the drug war is part in parcel to their business strategy. Prison companies have spent millions bankrolling pro-drug war politicians and have used secretive front groups, like the American Legislative Exchange Council, to pass harsh sentencing requirements for drug crimes.
3.) Alcohol and Beer Companies: Fearing competition for the dollars Americans spend on leisure, alcohol and tobacco interests have lobbied to keep marijuana out of reach. For instance, the California Beer & Beverage Distributors contributed campaign contributions to a committee set up to prevent marijuana from being legalized and taxed.

4.) Pharmaceutical Corporations: Like the sin industries listed above, pharmaceutical interests would like to keep marijuana illegal so American don’t have the option of cheap medical alternatives to their products. Howard Wooldridge, a retired police officer who now lobbies the government to relax marijuana prohibition laws, told Republic Report that next to police unions, the “second biggest opponent on Capitol Hill is big PhRMA” because marijuana can replace “everything from Advil to Vicodin and other expensive pills.”

5.) Prison Guard Unions: Prison guard unions have a vested interest in keeping people behind bars just like for-profit prison companies. In 2008, the California Correctional Peace Officers Association spent a whopping $1 million to defeat a measure that would have “reduced sentences and parole times for nonviolent drug offenders while emphasizing drug treatment over prison.”
The fact is that these lobbying groups fund and control both the Republicans and Democrats, which in turn have their state run media arms who will help perpetuate the "marijuana is the devil" propaganda. All this is done to keep the flow of money and power going through Washington and into the hands of their corporate handlers. So is Sanjay Gupta's pitiful admission that he was against marijuana before he was for it a sign that the propaganda war on drugs is failing? Is the fact that the drug war has failed finally starting to resonate through the lies which have been perpetuated on the television for decades finally forcing the media's hand to admit that cannabis has positive health effects?  I think so.

Here's is Gupta's statement:

Study on Cannabis Proves Government Wrong

Natural Cures Not Medicine on Facebook: www.facebook.com/naturalcuresnotmedicine

A recent study conducted by the University of California, Center for Medicinal Cannabis, sheds light on government prohibition of marijuana and its ridiculous implications. The irony here is that this study, published in The Open Neurology Journal, was sponsored by government.

The hypocrisy of marijuana remaining a Schedule 1 drug, “No Medical Use Whatsoever,” seems criminal when considering that pharmaceutical companies reproduce a chemical version of THC and are able to market and sell it as such. Marinol is a pharmaceutical chemical drug produced by Solvay Pharmaceuticals Inc. It contains the exact molecular structure of the THC molecule and has the same effects of marijuana. However you cannot grow Marinol in your backyard. You cannot make obscene profits from the patent of a plant, because luckily, the state has not granted their mega –corporations the ability to patent nature, yet. The contradiction here is that you can make nature illegal, and then recreate nature in a lab using chemicals, put that illegal part of nature, available for profit, into a pill and make millions.

The government funded study, appropriately titled, Medical Marijuana: Clearing Away the Smoke, concludes: “Based on evidence currently available the Schedule I classification is not tenable; it is not accurate that cannabis has no medical value, or that information on safety is lacking…. The continuing conflict between scientific evidence and political ideology will hopefully be reconciled in a judicious manner.”

Top Researchers Speak on the Healing Effects of Cannabis

Uploaded on Jan 9, 2012

This is a must-watch video featuring some of the top researchers on the healing effects of Cannabis (Marijuana) in it's raw form, eaten or juiced.

New research suggests Cannabis is a dietary essential that helps all cell types function more effectively.

As a medicine: anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, probably has some direct activity against cancerous cells. This plant can do phenomenal things, but not if [you aren't taking a high enough dose]. Cannabis is the most important vegetable in the world.

Legalization may be just around the corner for Australia

New South Wales to consider allowing medical cannabis to suffering patients.

With so much data showing the medicinal benefits of cannabis, who can be against it?

Studies all around the world have shown and are showing that the propaganda that got cannabis banned worldwide is just that, propaganda.  The basis for making cannabis illegal in the United States, where prohibition  originated and then spread outward, is the scheduling.  Cannabis is considered a schedule 1 narcotic in the U.S. which means that it is harmful and has absolutely no feasible medical value, which is now continuing to be proven false.  Ironically, cocaine is listed as a schedule 2 drug, which technically means that the government considers it to be less harmful than cannabis.  Seriously?  Yes.  So, with all the new data coming out, you would expect the old way of thinking to phase itself out, but there are still many people who consider this natural healing herb to be a harmful substance on par with drugs like heroin and methamphetamine.
A study out of Spain recently concluded that cannabis could be used and an effective natural treatment for cancer.  Two scientists from the San Francisco bay area also confirmed that cannabis is a powerful anti cancer.  Would you believe that there was even a U.S. government study on the effects and uses for canabinoids found in this plant that concluded its usefulness in fighting cancer?  That is the same government that created and harshly enforces prohibition of this herb based on the assumption that it has zero medicinal benefits.
With the recent full scale legalization in Colorado and Washington states, the debate on how to approach cannabis policy has heated up, not just in the U.S., but now other countries are reconsidering their policies regarding cannabis.  New South Wales, Australia is considering taking steps to make cannabis available to sufferers of serious diseases such as cancer, aids, and multiple sclerosis.  A NSW parliamentary inquiry committee held open hearings in March and are expected to deliver their report on the feasibility of using cannabis medically and the legal implications of doing so on may 17th.  Sally Crossing, deputy chair of the advocacy group Cancer Voices Australia, recommended to the inquiry committee that cannabis should be allowed to be used legally for medical purposes.  She mentioned the usefulness of cannabis for pain and vomiting in cancer patients and the added benefit of it causing very few mild side effects.  "There is enough evidnce, there's enough experience in other countries to say that if we do this in a sensible way, with appropriate safeguards, we can help a lot of people who are suffering, not only at the ends of their lives," said Crossing.
Some opposition is still entrenched, and the NSW police department has expressed their concerns that cannabis use will increase if this happens.  If it is legalized for medical use, they would preffer it to be a refined extract form that can be taken as a spray or a pill rather than the original form.  All forms of cannabis are currently listed as illegal substances in NSW law, but the tide seems to be turning with more and more data from seriously ill patients who benefit greatly from using it.

Hemp saved ex president Bush Sr.'s life

George H. W. Bush was part of the torpedo squadron VT-51, based in the pacific.  On September 2, 1944, Bush's plane was shot down during a bombing run over Chichi Jima island, an important strategic location for Japanese forces.  Bush and another one of his crewmen bailed out of the burning plane but the third crewman went down with the plane.  Bush was alone in the ocean right off the coast of the island when a submarine on patrol found and rescued him.  Bush's life saving technology, the parachute, was made from hemp, a strain of cannabis.
File:SBDs and Mikuma.jpg
It was not just his parachute that was made from hemp either...

-The stitching his shoes

-All the rigging ropes on the ship that transported him

-Parts of the plane's engine were lubricated with hemp seed oil

-The fire hoses on the ship

Even though hemp was outlawed in 1937, it was quickly reintroduced for the war effort in 1942.  100% of the parachute webbing was made from hemp and saved Bush's life that day but he has spent the greater part of his life trying to stifle the use of cannabis.

What would happen if cannabis was legalized?  Several states already allow medicinal marijuana, but what would full scale legalization mean for the struggling economy?

Huge results from juicing raw cannabis!

It seems that every year there is a new expert or study coming forward with compelling evidence of the fantastic medical powers contained in the cannabis plant.  Conditions like diabetes, inflammation, cancer, infections, depression, pain, and sleep disorders can be treated naturally using various cannabis strains.  With health insurance and cost of living to consider, should we be looking to nature for our healing needs?  Even strains that have zero psychoactive effects contain compounds that battle illnesses and free radicals while delivering sweet relief to patients.  Smoking cannabis yields some pain and appetite stimulation effects for terminal patients but is not the ideal method of medicating using cannabis as fire destroys up to 80% of the beneficial compounds in the plant matter.  Rick Simpson, the legendary cannabis activist from Canada, uses essential oils from cannabis to cure not just terminal cancers but other serious and deadly health conditions.  The concentrated oil is extremely effective, but is there yet another approach to medicating with this wonder plant?
